The newest update in the SmartExchange App finally lets users check any iPad device (WiFi or WiFi + Cellular) for diagnosis to get the estimated value for trade-in.
Beforehand, the process was done manually where interested customers need to provide the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) of their device. The IMEI is a unique 15-digit number that can give some information on the device such as brand, model, etc. It is usually found inside the battery compartment or on its original packaging.
This latest news will definitely lessen the hassle of opening up your device or looking for its box if you no longer have it. There's also no need to bring your iPad to the store before checking for diagnosis and getting the trade-in value. You can now check it at your own time and place.
To get the estimated value of your iPad, you can follow the similar steps when checking for smartphones. When asked for the IMEI, dial in *#06# on your keypad.
Of course, you would need to download the SmartExchange App on the device you want to trade-in and make sure to set the following prerequisites before running diagnostics on the device:
- WiFi/internet connection is on
- Set up fingerprint (if applicable)
- Enable NFC (if applicable)
- Turn on screen auto-rotation
- Switch off silent mode
